$15 NBA Basketball Shoes?

This is another story that I think I’ll file under “Believe It When I See It.” First, a disclaimer: I know exactly Jack about basketball and basketball shoes. The only thing I know is that they are hell of expensive because I hear my friends talking about them all the time.

So apparently, some people are out to level the high-priced basketball shoe field - Steve & Barry’s University Sportswear to be exact. They’ve gotten Stephon Marbury of the Knicks to agree to promote their 15 dollar Starbury One sneaker by actually wearing them in a game. They are running this campaign to raise awareness about their clothing line which is supposed to be an alternative to stratospherically priced sports gear. Yeah, you know - those pimped and pumped basketball shoes your neighbor just bought for $150.

You know, the shoe looks pretty much what you’d expect from today’s basketball shoes and supposedly is made from pretty much the same materials. But then again what do I know about sports shoes…
