I got these shoes by A. Marinelli from Nordstrom.com about a year ago for no particular occasion. I just wanted elegant, low-heeled (1 and a half inches) slides. The upper is made of leather, covered with metal chain and rhinestones. Sounds tacky, doesn’t it? Actually they are very pretty and even padded for comfort. It’s the only pair of shoes I have with the words “metal upper” stamped into the sole. They sat in my closet for a long time until I finally got to wear them to my friend Maria’s parents’ 50th anniversary party, which was really fun and memorable.
