Celebrity Shoe: Alyson Hannigan

Recently, Alyson Hannigan (of Buffy The Vampire Slayer / American Pie fame and currently playing a kindergarten teacher in a new CBS comedy called How I Met Your Mother) was asked by USA Weekend to pick out full outfits of cool clothes for this Spring. These of course included SHOES.

So what did the cutie redhead and her costume designer (Susanna Puisto) choose? Well, not surprisingly the three outfits they put together (Manhattan Weekend, Out On The Town and Kindergarten Teacher) included mostly down to earth shoes from the populist J.Crew and Banana Republic stores.

The shoes ranged from popular Banana Republic gold slingbacks and leather pumps to these interesting “Marianne Espadrilles” from J.Crew which feature a jute-covered wedge heel with Italian tie-silk and canvas grosgrain ribbon ties attached with vachetta leather tabs. The wedge espadrilles come in a variety of color combinations with names like “Aloe Tile” (pictured), “Clover Burst”, “Papaya Dots”, and “Nectar Stripe”. About these particular shoes, she notes:

“Love these shoes. These are very cute and very comfortable. You can go shopping in them and not have to go home and change.”

Alyson’s charm is her down-to-earth look and this definitely extends to her shoes;it’s nice to see that fame hasn’t gone to the heads of ALL of Hollywood’s elite.
