Andy Rooney on Shoes

I thought this was a sort of fun news item. That semi-loveable grouch Andy Rooney from 60 Minutes serves up some of his own opinions and pet peeves on shoes. Apparently, one of the shoe injustices that grinds his gears the most is something that plagues many people: a pair of shoes that are both the same size, for left and right feet that aren’t the same size.

Another notable shoe complaint is: why are short shoes the same price as longer shoes? I must agree with this one wholeheartedly, having smaller feet; I’ve always felt taken advantage of by people with extremely large feet. Same goes with small-sized clothes!

Of course, there’s also that syndrome that affects many of the people at Shoe -n- Tell: Why do we buy all these shoes that we don’t really need? Andy says:

I must have 20 pairs of shoes I don’t wear, but they cost so much, I can’t stand to throw them out.
