Multi-purpose Your Shoes:
This is somewhat of a minor point - but whenever you’re in the process of buying a shoe there should a little section in the back of your brain that lights up and ponders whether or not this shoe is REUSABLE. That is - are you buying this shoe for just one grand event (weddings are notorious for this) after which you’ll just toss it in the closet and forget about it? Stop right there… the majority of your shoe purchases should be shoes that you’ll wear at least a few times. I know - some of us actually don’t WEAR the shoes more than once, but actually think of them as part of our “collections”. That’s fine. But still, if you try and keep reusability in mind at least some of the time, then you’ll find yourself saving money because you won’t buy shoes that you don’t need.
Sign up for Shoe Manufacturers Mailing Lists
Most shoe companies and retailers that are online offer some sort of mailing list. Sometimes these are useless to the shoe consumer and only seem to benefit the shoe marketeers. However, more than a few will offer up coupons and specials only for their mailing list members. They’ll also notify you of ongoing sales. You want to find the lists that offer up something of value, and unsubscribe from the ones that simpy waste your time. Tip: Not everyone wants to give out their email address to these companies, so you may want to setup a “throwaway” email account at one of the free email services (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail) and use that when signing up.
Sign up to Win Free Shoes! - Nothing will make your wallet happier than getting shoes for no money. A surprising number of shoe manufacturers and retailers hold monthly (sometimes even weekly) contests. Go online and find the websites of your favorite shoe companies and signup to win free shoes. The same email address tip above applies here for shoe sweepstakes.
And of course the BEST tip we can offer (you knew this was coming!) is:
Signup here to get the Shoe -n- Tell Special Deals report sent to you every month. We don’t waste your time with non-shoe coupons. Everything in the newsletter has to do with shoe sales or coupons. We also hold occasional drawings for free shoes as well and point you toward the latest shoe reviews on the site.
