Berlin Stilleto Sprint

Glamour Run
Since our earlier Moscow High Heel Race item was such a hit, I decided to post about yet another high heel run that took place awhile back in Berlin.

This one was called nicknamed the “Stiletto-Run”… sort of a catchy name though it reminds me too much of the Cannonball Run movie from the 80s. Anyhow, it was organized by Glamour Magazine (published by Conde Nast) for the Global Fashion Festival. I don’t know what the “rules” were for the heels in this race (the Moscow one required heels a minimum of 9 cm tall, ouch) but the prize was a cool 10,000 Euro.

The race took place on Kurfuerstendamm Ave. and a lot of people came out to watch the gals, er, pump their legs. No word on the extent of broken heels or ankle injuries. I think Nike needs to come up with a special running heel just for these type of events…
