Brown vs. Black

Should one wear brown shoes with black pants? I’ve worn black shoes with brown pants and that seems to work. However brown shoes with black pants seem weird. What do you think? Is this a fashion no-no? I’ve pondered this question before but now it’s time to ask Shoe-n-Tell readers. Why am I even posing this question when I have enough black shoes to wear with all my black pants? I guess I am just curious to know what all you fashionable people out there think. Anyone care to comment? Thanks!

    I say as long as you are wearing a Brown shirt/ Sweater, then the brown shoes are a fashion yes with black pants . Go ahead and WORK IT GIRL

    Personally, i think wearing black with brown isn’t the greatest idea but of you think it looks good wear it

    Brown shoes with black pants are fine. Capri style slacks or cuffed capris would look better but with an cream sweater shirt accented with rich brown jewelry and a brown hand bag. OH! depending on the weather don’t forget your sexy brown leather hat.

    Ohh good question! Unlike the previous commenters, mixing black and brown is one of my biggest pet peeves. I think *sometimes* it could work depending on the shades of brown/black, but 9 out of 10 times I’ve seen it mixed together, it just looks bad to me, especially brown top with black pants. Eek.

    This is a fashion rule that I stick to like a religion. I just never can seem to make it work, although very rarely I have seen it pulled off. My advice, just to be safe, stick with coordinating but for the very brave, try if you dare! :o )

    I think,too,wearing a brown top with the brown shoes and black pants would look okay. I would make sure my top matched my shoes as much as I could.

    Maybe, I’m still old school, but I would never wear brown shoes with black pants or vice versa.
