Lately, I’ve noticed a trend towards mary-jane-inspired athletic footwear. These Ecco X-treme Jane Sling Backs are an exceptional specimen. The “open net side quarters” allow for superior ventilation during hot days, workouts or barefoot treks to the supermarket. The “dual density anatomically correct compression moulded EVA/PU composite midsole” is a mouthful to say, but to paraphrase: they mold to my feet and are very comfy. It even feels as though there’s an air pocket under the heel which puts an extra spring in my step. It could use slightly more padding on the strap over the top, but overall, a great shoe and a great style. Size feels larger than marked, width is very roomy.
