Fake Polish Purveyors Nabbed

shoe polishYou don’t mess with Sara Lee. If you’re a shoe polish counterfeiter, that is. The Pell Incorporated company has agreed to pay $500,000 in damages to the Sara Lee company, which manufacturers the popular Kiwi brand shoe polish. The Pell company said they had been unknowingly selling the fake polish which was made in China. But according to nearly everone connected to the case, the fake Kiwi polish smelled so horribly that there was no way that the company could not know it wasn’t the real deal. The lesson: if you’re going to sell phony polish make sure it passes the smell test.
