Happy new shoe year! Here’s my first review of 2008. I’ve kept this pair of Farylrobin - Fiddle sling back pumps unworn, sitting in its box for a while now, and only recently christened them at my friend Brad’s Christmas party, which was a lot of fun, by the way! (His super cool, intact mid-century modern home is perfect for entertaining.)

This shoe pairs suede with a snake leather (or lizard embossed??) trim upper for interesting textures in a rusty-colored retro pump. A three-inch heel gives me a much needed lift and the half-inch platform makes it more comfortable. I must admit, though, my feet were hurting after about four hours. It’s hard to find things that match these shoes, but they are fun and stylish. My new year’s resolution is to wear these more often.
