Last weekend I had the pleasure of killing thirty minutes at the bookstore with Gothic & Lolita, a pictorial book about the “Gothic” and “Lolita” fashion scenes in Japan. Some of the outfits featured were very imaginative, creative, unique, and cute, while others were just average, funny, and Halloween-y. Every person photographed in the book indicated his or her influences and obsessions. The most original response from one of the Goths was, “I like eating the jelly of human eyes!”

Anyway, the Gothic people are shown in monster platform shoes and the Lolitas in a variety of mary jane shoes. Wacky!
