Heelys Kids’ Venture
These Heelys Kids’ Venture skate shoes look pretty cool in white/green/yellow. They come in a modern skate shoe style with the added bonus of a skate wheel in the heel of the sole. This affords kids the freedom to roll about anywhere and especially wreak havoc indoors. If you value your carpet or fragile housewares, don’t get these for the kids in your own household. Get them for your sister’s or your neighbor’s children.
The shoes feature an EVA midsole, synthetic upper, perforated accents, and padded tongue and collar for comfort. The “Fats” skate wheels with steel axle are removeable. This way you can replace the wheel or plug up the heel with the “Sole Saver” for those occasions when kids are required to walk normally, like, say, at a church, library, or the State Capitol Building. For those of you who are curious about the bearings, they have ABEC 5 688 reinforced microbearings.

I like that part about getting it for children other than your own… hehe.
Regarding the bearings, ABEC scale goes from 1-9 (odd numbers only), with the high number meaning a tighter tolerance and therefore a more expensive bearing. Confusingly, there are other scales of measurement for bearings in use, with the LOWER numbers standing for better bearings.

Thanks for the clarification for our readers. So the 5 there means it’s a mid-range priced bearing, but what do you think 688 refers to?

hm.. well, actually I don’t know what the 688 is for. I know from rollerblades… everyone just says they have ABEC 1’s or ABEC 5’s with no other number mentioned.
