Indigo by Clarks Manas

indigoclarksmanasShoes make the best souvenirs, don’t they? If I buy shoes when I’m traveling, I will remember the shopping experience fondly. It just seems more special than buying shoes at the local department store. I bought these, the Indigo by Clarks “Manas” in New York City last year amid the sweltering and humid month of August. They’re made in Brazil, with a leather upper and a man-made balance. This cute but sturdy black slide features white and red floral detailing. The leather covered EVA footbed keeps moisture at bay and conforms to the natural shape of your foot. The polyurethane outsole should be able to absorb shock and move when you move.

If you have ever shopped at DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse), you know how shopping there can become a daunting task. The store is so huge that when faced with those miles of aisles, my head starts spinning, believe it or not. And I normally love shoe shopping. I guess I can’t handle too much of a good thing. The DSW is located at Union Square in New York City, where I bought these. I think what makes shopping there bearable for me is heading straight to the clearance aisles, forsaking all other aisles, and committing to browsing the size 6 section only. ‘Til death do us part.

At this point they are still kind of hard and not so flexible, but as soon as they’re broken in, I anticipate the comfort and flexibility for which Clarks are famous. Oh, that headache I had at the DSW, that extreme heat I suffered in NYC? All forgiven and forgotten.
