Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association

This post comes, appropriately, right on the heels of Valentine’s Day and my last post about the Italian-made Miss Sixty peep toe pumps.
I was minding my business, walking through JFK Airport recently when this advertisement caught my eye! The two red heels come together to form a heart…awww. Who doesn’t love Italian shoes? It’s an advertisement for the A.N.C.I. - The National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers - or, in Italian, Associazione Nazionale Calzaturifici Italiani. I’m glad the Italian shoemakers are banding together as they certainly face fierce competition in those powerhouse shoe manufacturers in China. I like Italian-made quality, but there’s a high price to pay for it. Long live Italian footwear manufacturers.

I am trying to determine the name of the company that manufactures shoes called Trapper’s. Twelve years ago, while on business in Western Canada/Calgary, I purchased a pair of these shoes. Today, the soles look as if I bought them last month and the uppers are still in good condition. However, no matter how much I try, I am unable to locate the manufacturer on the Internet. The shoes are called Trapper’s and are made in Italy. I will appreciate any help in locating the manufacturer. Thanks.

My husband just bought a pair of trappers while we were on vacation in Kyoto, Japan. They don’t seem to be available in US. Their website is www.iltrapper.it

Thanks for the info! They sound like nice quality shoes. I love getting shoes on vacation. You always remember those, right?
