I neglected to post up the previous poll results for the Giuseppe Zanotti E80173 shoe. The next poll is already up to your right - and it’s a doozy.

Opinion on the Giuseppe Zanotti was quite decisive - out of 247 votes, a full 60% thought this shoe was nothing but a “stairway to hell”. You can count me in the negative majority. Maybe the crazy looking heel would save you from being washed away in the next hurricane, but I’m still not convinced. Well, at least you know it’ll lift your feet out of any puddles if there’s a flood.

Only 21% had a favorable response to the shoe - they thought it was “beautifully boxy”. 18% didn’t come down as hard on the shoe, but still thought there was an “architect amiss” in the design of this platform sandal.

At the end of the summer, I am sometimes lucky enough to find good deals on sandals and this month was no exception. Maybe it’s not so much luck as it is serendipity because I really wasn’t planning to buy any more shoes for a long while (but it’s hard to pass up a good deal). Anyway, I bought these Charles by Charles David Women’s Salsa Sandals recently and they’re pretty, delicate slide sandals with a comfortable elasticized upper. I don’t believe the soles are leather, as stated in the Endless description. Slip on, slip off. Easy as sin. I’ll probably wear them to Morrison’s party tomorrow. I just need to make sure my toenails look decent.

I think I bought these Ramon Tenza Women’s Fern Pumps about two years ago. I was waiting for a special opportunity to wear them as I never wanted to subject them to daily use. I mean, look at the beautiful suede upper, charming suede-covered buckle, and vintage-look platform, it was my duty to preserve them. Mine are black suede, by the way. Life is too short to let the Ramon Tenza - Fern Pumps waste away in their box, so I was eager to wear them to the Edison, a bar in downtown Los Angeles with a strict dress code (no athletic clothes or shoes but I think I saw someone with sneakers–aye!). The Edison is a very cool place converted from the first private power plant in downtown LA. The original (1910?) boilers and furnaces are still there and they serve drinks I’ve never heard of, like the Hemingway and the Singapore Sling.

These shoes are uncomfortable but they look good. So for hanging out for just 2-3 hours, they are fine. But beyond that, they started to strangle my feet.

It’s been a while since I found such beautiful shoes - a perfect blend of classy and sultry, the Brunch pumps from Exchange by Charles David will knock everyone’s socks off with its patent leather upper and architectural wooden 4″stacked heel.
