Pro-Idee UV Shoe Dryer

Here’s some more shoe-gadgetry for your pleasure - the Pro-Idee UV Shoe Dryer. That’s right - hair dryers no longer have a monopoly on getting things warm and dry.

I have to admit, on first glance the double-armed shoe dryer looks an awful lot like the robotech lobsters in my nightmares, but that’s shoe fodder for another post. I’m also not sure if I’ll be able to justify buying this in sunny California. However, you rainy weather folks may soon be rejoicing in warm, dry shoes made possible by these double action, 104 degree hot air streaming, UV bacteria killing arms.

Taking it’s ventilation cues from PC computer fan designs, the UV Shoe Dryer is apparently rather quiet as well. I sort of figured it would be like reverse-vacuuming your shoes. At $72 it’s not too cheap, but if you hike and ski frequently (or do a lot of slogging around in ankle-high water) this might just be the ticket for you.
